The Electro Swing Birthday Bash will be a night to remember in te city of Torrington. On Saturday 2/28/2015 at 8:30pm in the top floor of Bachi’s Restaurant the Desultory Theatre Club will celebrate 4 years of providing quality entertainment in the northwest Connecticut.  This will be a 21 and over event and it’s not to be missed!

As is the case for all DTC events, the music and entertainment will be provocative and extraordinary. Throughout the night DJ ZERP will spin the tunes and Milltown Swing will provide live gyspy jazz.  Preston Parish founded Milltown Swing with a mission to perform jazz standards within a hybrid electronic swing band style.  Parish is excited about the evening’s entertainment. “Milltown Swing will be playing standards that are common in gypsy jazz circles, with a decidedly electro-swing edge. Nothing but the best for a Desultory Theatre birthday bash!”

DJ ZERP, Desultory Theatre Club and Bachi’s collaborated in November for an event called “GLOW IN THE DARK: BLACK LIGHT DANCE PARTY” and it was so popular that Paul felt the Birthday Bash was the perfect venue to reinvest in that entertainment alchemy.

The Birthday bash would not be complete without the talented burlesque performers Dot Mitzvah and Kitty Katastrophe who have performed at Desultory Theatre shows last year. Keith Paul and Dot Mitzah co-host an extremely popular Burlesque Sunday Sizzle event at the 9th Note in New Haven.

Keith Paul states he has not scheduled any more burlesque shows in Torrington for this year so this may be the rare opportunity to experience a burlesque performance in our area for the foreseeable future. “”A lot of people confuse the art of burlesque with stripping and it’s not. It’s about empowerment and the art of the tease,” says Paul. ” It’s just like a theater performance, with a lot more leg involved.” Paul adds that if the public has never attended a burlesque show, this is the time to do it.

Tickets at the door are only $10 so come be a part of a night to remember on this historic electro swing birthday bash!

Bachi’s is located at 46 East Main Street in Torrington.
