New Milford’s Gallery 25 is a special artistic venue at 25 Church Street within walking distance of the municipal offices at town hall and the creative space at Village Center for the Arts. Conceived as an artistic co-op and gallery, Gallery 25 is staffed by the artists and volunteers with hours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, noon to 5 PM and by appointment.
Created as an initiative of New Milford Mayor Pat Murphy in conjunction with the New Milford Commision of the Arts, the Gallery showcases the artwork of its members. Admission into the gallery is through a juried peer review process after which members agree to host the gallery, perform duties as required and pay a yearly membership fee.
There are currently 20 listed members of the Gallery 25 including member Chris Osborne who was recently featured in a Nutmeg Chatter Daily Spotlight. There are artists who work in every visual medium. Maryann Meken-Silvestri works with fused glass.
Diane Dubreuil is a fine watercolorist and she also holds the title as one of the two gallery directors of Gallery 25.
The current exhibit on display through 3/29/2015 is entitled “Art from the Heart”. Nutmeg Chatter strongly encourages you to visit New Milford’s Gallery 25 before the close of this exhibit!
