To celebrate WAPJ’s 20th year, Nutmeg Chatter will present a special week-long series featuring a wide range of guests in panels addressing the history and the future of the station.
Because of the special nature of the programs WAPJ (105.1 and 89.9FM and online) will air one episode at 4pm each day next week to commemorate the station’s 20th.
Here’s the schedule:
Monday, Dec. 4, 4pm – Panel discussion with WAPJ leadership. Where the station has been and where it’s going.
The panel includes Larry Wright (Sports Director), John Basso (Web Designer), Barrie Soucy (Training Coordinator), Chris Canfield (Program Director), John Ramsey (General Manager). The segment ends with an interview with Alicia DeLibro (Media Coordinator),
Tuesday, Dec. 5, 4pm – Panel discussion with six current station volunteers who were there when the station first started in 1997, Art Benedict, Sal Barberi, John Ramsey,
Mike Roots, Mike Whittaker and Larry Wright
Wednesday, Dec 6, 4pm – Interview with Tony Henry, current host of the Friday night Classic Rock show and WAPJ general manager for a decade.
Thursday, Dec 7, 4pm – Special two-hour episode featuring panel discussions with a dozen WAPJ music program hosts. it includes two special segments-an interview with John Ramsey and a rebroadcast of a portion of an interview with Mr. Isadore Temkin.
The first panel includes Miles Concannon (Mudcat-Blues), Mark Allen Hart (Downbeat) , Joel Benson (Unhinged), Jacque Williams (The Feel Good Show) and Mike Roots (Reggae Explorations) The hour ends with a segment of an interview with General Manager John Ramsey
The second panel Alicia DeLibro (Alternative Anthems), Darcy Abbott (The Hot Spot with Darcy), Chris Lovallo (Chris’ A to Z) and Barrie Soucy (The Miscellaneous Morning Show) The segment ends with a rebroadcast of an interview with Mr. Isadore Temkin
Friday, Dec. 8, 4pm – Panel discussion with the station’s sports staff about the history of sports broadcasting on WAPJ.
