A book signing and the opening reception for an art show will be held January 9th from 4pm to 6:30pm at the Artist’s Path, the gallery and store located on Bantam Road (Route 202) in Bantam, Connecticut! The gallery boasts a collection of the work from over 45 artists of all varieties and mediums. Each month the feature wall showcases a group collection inspired by a common theme. The January Group show is titled “Letters Never Sent” which will feature work about letters, words, alphabets, thoughts or messages. During the opening reception there will be a book signing by author and cofounder of the Artist’s Path, Ernie Barker.
The story of The Artist’s Path is a journey of love for two accomplished local artists. It was only 3 years ago in January when Lori and Ernie Baker were inspired to create a gallery for all artists to display their work in a non-intimidating environment. Their daughter Ali had opened Love Heart’s Bakery in Bantam and the space next door was available and the perfect venue and so “The Artists Path” (http://artistspath.homestead.com/) was born. Since opening the doors of the gallery, Lori and Ernie hosted exhibits, open mic nights, workshops and classes as well as author lectures and book signings.
Lori Barker is an artist who specializes in mixed media photography. Her solo work has been exhibited throughout Connecticut and her new original art will be exhibited separately at Enchanted Realms, a New Milford gallery beginning January 10th.
Ernie is an author, a wood sculptor and an instructor of the arts. Having authored two books about the Civil War, Ernie’s new novel “SUMNER” is now out in paperback. It’s a coming of age story inspired by photographs of the era he had received and researched.
The event on January 9th is open to the public.
The Artists Path is located at 583 Bantam Road (rt 202) Bantam, CT
